“A Yarn of Two Sisters” is a rarity among dread films that combines grand human drama with spookiness. And it goes one better in presenting the audience with a multi-layered mystery that reveals itself gradually. Teenaged Su-mi (Im Su-jeong) and her younger sister Su-yeon (Moon Geun-yeong) return home to their father and stepmother after a halt at a mental hospital. Su-mi is outspoken, resentful of her stepmother, and always protective of the more reserved Su-yeon. Shortly after the girls approach, unfamiliar things open to happen around the house. Su-mi is plagued by horrific nightmares that may or may not be sincere. Objects seem to replicate themselves. Images of people appear and proceed. Their stepmother (Yeom Jeong-ah) blames the girls and then the house. Su-mi blames her stepmother. Their father (Kim Kab-su) blames everyone’s inability to adjust to their recent circumstances. Events from the past which are alluded to but never explained may possess the respond. Or is an otherworldly presence at work?

It’s not surprising that “A Sage of Two Sisters” owes powerful of its success to its credibility. The relationships of these people – the resentful and protective older sister, the concerned but frustrated father, the chilly and jealous stepmother- are in the forefront of the anecdote, not secondary to the alarm. Deep-seated emotions drive the characters, not alarm. Unlike most panic or mystery films, we understand less of what’s going on than the characters do. Writer/director Kim Ji-woon keeps the audience in the unlit until nearly the kill of the film. Since these are credible characters, we want to understand what’s happening to them, and that sustains our interest. Layers of the mystery are peeled away gradually, revealing a beneficial human tragedy with horrific implications.
“A Fable of Two Sisters” will appeal to fans of psychological thrillers as well as scare. I found the film more fascinating than ugly. It has a memoir to insist -rather than impartial creeping you out. The film doesn’t suffer from underwriting or terrible writing that I’ve approach to demand from Asian panic films -or from scare films in general. If anything, “A Narrative of Two Sisters” is more complicated than it needs to be at a few points. Production values also seem aesthetic high. Shapely cinematography beautifully contrasts the idyllic, quick-witted countryside surrounding the family’s delicate feeble home with its unlit, oppressive interior. The DVD (Tartan Video 2005) : There are reportedly 2 versions of this Tartan DVD: a single disc that is rated R and a two-disc location that is unrated. I buy it’s unrated only because the bonus material hasn’t been rated. The disc I saw was the first disc of the 2-disc space. It includes a trailer and two audio commentaries (in Korean with subtitles) . The first commentary is by writer/director Kim Ji-woon, director of photography Lee Mo-gae, and lighting director O Seung-chui. This is a scene-by-scene analysis of how the sage, tone, and characters are expressed through photography and lighting, including framing, lighting do, and camera movements. It’s quite a marvelous commentary if you’re alive to in the filmmaking process. The second commentary is with writer/director Kim Ji-woon and the actresses who played the sisters, Im Su-jeong and Moon Geun-yeong. Kim gives further commentary about his decisions and intentions and prompts the actresses to comment on their performances. Sorry, I have not seen the second disc of bonus material.
Two sisters Su-Mi and Su-Yeon return to their home after a period of convalescence after the death of their mother. Their father awaits them with his fresh bride – Eun-joo, once a nurse on the father’s staff. Su-Mi is intensely mad with both her father and her original stepmother, and from this broken relationship, the film moves forward. But this fleet turns into far more than a injurious stepmother film.
Bit by bit director Ji-woon Kim makes it apparent that there is something deeply depraved. Terrible dreams turn into poor reality and serve again as viewers learn not to trust the evidence of their eyes. Kim uses a lot of sudden inserts that will have you hitting the stop and step buttons repeatedly, but to no avail. It is a putrid woman, an insane girl, or a tremulous house that lies at the dim center of this bleak anecdote?
This is not so considerable a anxiety record as sad epic of characters in search of a resolution – one that uses awe as its metaphor. Gestures and glances leave no doubt in anyone’s mind that leisurely the characters words lies a secret that divides them onto separate parts. Only the two young girls seem to regain solace together, but their unruffled moments are continually timorous by their step-mother, who seems aroused as a hatter. But, as you can probably bellow now from this review, almost nothing is as it seems.
The direction really is bright. Careful consume of color and shadow fabricate their rural home into a disturbed gothic mansion. Memories, not ghosts though, are the lurkers in the shadow, and it is up to the viewer to try to secure the trusty thread in a truly layered state. Images, especially the utilize of hair and facial profiles contribute to the double meanings. The acting is also kindly, a far shout from the what we’re mature to in oriental terror. Having watched Ringu recently I can honestly say that this is the better film.
Have somebody with you when you see this film. You will want the company before this is over.

Two years ago, season 4 of TMNT ended on a cliffhanger with our boys in green shipped off to Japan to fight an extinct inappropriate (the unique, demon Shredder) . Faster than you can say “toy sales,” 4Kids pulled a switch and aired “Snappy Forward” instead, banishing these “lost episodes” to brief on query showings and overseas markets. Now with Lickety-split Forward over and the series being retooled again, North American audiences are getting The Ninja Tribunal saga for the first time. As I write this the final few episodes are airing on TV, but they’ll all be tranquil in this state.

This is solid Ninja Turtles, though it doesn’t quite hit the heights of the series’ best. As the season was only 13 episodes instead of the usual 26, a lot of “beefy” has been trimmed from the storytelling and every episode furthers the main set while also being action-packed. The result is a roller coaster trot that takes the Turtles from Original York to Japan and help to Novel York, has them forming alliances with modern allies and stale enemies, and gaining mystical medallions that turn them into dragons.
Yes, dragons. Taking a cue from new anime shows, the Turtles need to “power up” to the next level with mystical energies, weapons, and transformations. It’s actually venerable to kindly carry out where needed, though you’ll serene be blissful these powers don’t last beyond this memoir arc. Otherwise, the series has always had its problems with pacing, characterizations, and cop-outs; this season is no different, and some intense moments are weakened by what was probably a network decision to play safe; they may be Ninja Turtles, but the show’s calm for kids.

But overall, this is mild a more-than-worthy seize for fans. These were the last episodes to be produced in the new ‘2K3′ art style, and bring that chapter of TMNT to a fitting cessation while keeping the doors commence to Swiftly Forward and beyond. It doesn’t live up to two years’ worth of hype, but what possibly could? The Ninja Tribunal “lost season” is a fun time.
If you enjoyed watching “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” by FoxKids on Cheez TV and Toasted TV (etc.) but was disappointed by the (last) “Ninja Tribunal” episode of Season 4 before “Lickety-split Forward” played like me, well . . . that season has unbiased about been completed and will be released onto DVD (as you can glance above) .
This never-before-seen season box region takes plot after the Turtles and 4 other human warriors have been taken by 4 Shredder look-a-likes on a ship to Japan for some intense training to, as was briefly explained But Never Fully revealed as Before, combat a “Titanic Gross”, as well as choose the Mystic Foots’ (5 mini-Shredders with elemental powers – earth, fire, wind, water & metal) attempt to resurrect the legal Shredder.

Naturally, as this season was incomplete and therefore never shown before (except for question on “selected” channels), all detailed information shall be revealed upon its release and engage by fans.
Despite the fact that I have never seen an episode before nor can voice what really happens, and probably not marvelous to review an item pre-release, a Novel TMNT TV Season (almost) fully released on DVD is WORTH a bulky rating. The long wait shall be over soon . . .
*Sigh*, If only this sort of treatment (completing an unfinished season of an challenging series) was also done with the 2002/Mike Young Productions’ “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe”. THAT would be large!

Episode 7 is supposed to be the final episode of the first OVA series (1-7) but since the first episode of the “infinity” series starts on episode 8 and ends on 13, I do not deem these two universes, but one OVA series consisting of episodes 1-13 and that’s how most everyone sees it anyways. So, Episode 7 has Ryoko and Ayeka fighting over Tenchi again and this time, Mihoshi leaves for the Galaxy Police. This was a trick by Ryoko to procure Mihoshi out of the record and to eliminate her as a candidate for Tenchi’s care for. While Ryoko unprejudiced wants to sleep with Tenchi, Ayeka’s honest is to halt her at all costs. This episode is to grand to miss. Out of everything that is Tenchi Muyo, this is my common! This Video also includes the Mihoshi special. For some Reason, they didn’t include this special on the Tenchi Muyo Ultimate OVA DVD. You can only net it on this tape so lift it now and have it in your collection! The Mihoshi special is about Mihoshi telling a fable from one of her galaxy police missions. It’s mainly about Ryoko and Washu in a crime operation of stealing ultra energy matter with Mihoshi and Kiyone being hired by Ayeka to engage Ryoko for stealing Tenchi away who is also a GP officer. Later When Exquisite Sammy comes around, things bag more provocative. I like the ending music of the Handsome Sammy Theme. It sounds best in japanese but the english version is alright. I say grasp this video now because of “the night before the carnival” (my popular) and Unbiased so you can have a copy of the Mihoshi special since it’s not even on the DVD That costs 83 Bucks.
I old-fashioned to cherish watching this present on cartoon network when I was unprejudiced 12 years dilapidated, it had a pleasant tale, comic charecters, and plenty of action! I’ve missed it alot over the years, and have wanted to leer it again alot since then. I wasnt distinct what to query when I bought this DVD, but now that I’ve seen it, I’m tickled that I bought it. It’s the same musty prove that I venerable to appreciate! Clear, it’s uncut, but not noteworthy has changed…

Yes, the last episode on this DVD contains nudity, and lots of it, but it’s nothing worse than the nudity in Disney’s Fantasia movie, so dont let that discontinuance you from buying it.

Tenchi Muyo is a highly curious and improbable series! It has some really nice art work, a graet tale, and it’s alot of fun to discover. Tenchi Muyo is also one of the few shows that successfully blends comedy with action, in most shows where they try to blend comedy with action it unprejudiced ends up looking depraved. Tenchi however, blends the two perfectly, and doesnt leave you feeling confused. I highly recommend buying this DVD, it’s a grand exhibit and lots of fun to search for!
