The movie is without doubt a perfect union with mean streets and goodfellas. But let’s face it, why do we click into a certian HD DVD on amazon, we know whether or not we like the movie, moral? We want the goods on the relate quality! Let me swear you something even if you can’t occupy the needed violence in this movie, fetch it. Even if you can’t stand all the nasty language, collect it. Even if you mediate Sharon Stone got her acting degree out of a cereal box, collect it! Let me exclaim you something, this three hour myth looks mind numbingly pleasing. I literally sat in dismay at the sheer beauty of it, I mean what could possibly note of HD DVD describe quality than vegas’ vivid lights and scorsese’ masterful direction? Casino, that’s what. Do yourself a favor and come by this disc honest now because if you don’t; Nicky will advance aid with a bat and if you beat him with a bat, he’ll reach wait on with a knife and you beat him with a knife, he’ll approach wait on with a gun and if you beat him with a gun, you better destroy him because he’ll sustain comin’ relieve, and wait on until one of you is humdrum.

I mean that statement in two ways. First, in my humble view, this is Martin Scorcese at his finest. This is better than Goodfellas by a wide margin. All of the regulars give awesome performances in this (even Sharon Stone, who I can’t stand!) . If you like mafia pictures, this is the BEST one to occupy. I also mean that it’s a enormous narrate due to the fact that it’s on HD-DVD. The record is astonishingly gleaming and positive and the lights of Las Vegas really jump out of the television. It’s almost 3-D! The extras are stout, but I’d say adequate. That’s the reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5. There is the obligitory commentary, deleted scenes, and a couple featurettes. It’s all whipped cream and a cherry on top of an valid sundae! I do like that you can peer the extras and the movie at the same time with commentary running. This and Batman Begins are the reasons you should contain an HD DVD player! Note: I have the HD DVD drive attached to my Xbox 360 and it works brilliantly!

Teenage pregnancy is frequently a starting point for myriad philosophical arguments: some look it as a major scrape, some study it as an argument for the need of early teaching of contraceptive technique and sex education, some discover it as a reason for championing abortion, and some sight it as a part of life that confronts families in both obvious and negative ways. JUNO is a beautifully written (Diablo Cody) and directed (Jason Reitman) version of unplanned pregnancy offered by a blooming ensemble cast: it is a movie that could modify the sociologic outlook of many people in a very strong fashion.

Juno (Ellen Page) is sixteen and talks her best friend Bleek (Michael Cera) into having sex: the result is a surprise pregnancy that Juno shares with her girlfriend Leah (Olivia Thirley) and the store clerk Rollo (Rainn Wilson) even before informing Bleek, a likable kid who seems fairly flat about the place. After discarding abortion as a viable solution, Juno informs her father (JK Simmons) and stepmother (Allison Janney) of her station, and tells them she is going to complete the pregnancy and give the baby to some loving and needy barren couple. Her parents are at first flustered by the news, but hasty become supportive in a contrivance that tells us many things about the durability of successful families. With Leah’s back, Juno answers an ad for ‘wanted: baby’ in PennySaver and visits the Lorings (Jennifer Garner and Jason Bateman) who desperately want a child and embrace Juno’s gesture of adoption with involved excitement. The remainder of the film follows Juno as her abdomen increases in girth, finding recent respect for her parents and for Bleek, and inadvertently walking in the paralyzed waters of the Loring’s marital discord. Without giving the anecdote away, the ending is so tender and free of cliché that it allows us, the audience, to indulge in all the vigor and sensitivity and humor and warmth of Juno – an example of developing maturity that is a new slither compared to the usual teenage movies.

Ellen Page does indeed exclaim a pitch perfect performance, but her co-stars are equally fine: Simmons and Janney wreck away from their usual type cast roles brilliantly, and the other members of the cast (the entire cast) flesh out this well written chronicle with spacious skill. The mixture of fascinating graphics and the imaginative musical gain enhance the flavor of the story. JUNO offers an honest gawk at the topic of teenage pregnancy and wins on every level. Juno was Minute Miss Sunshine of 2007 – the runt independent film that could. Once the studio realized that it had a successful crowd-pleaser on its hands, the film was promoted from the art-house circuit to the multiplexes. Actress Ellen Page and first-time screenwriter Diablo Cody became the film’s breakout stars garnering the lion’s allotment of indispensable raves and awards with Page getting an Independent Spirit Award and Cody an Academy Award. Now that all of the dust has settled, Juno can be reassessed to scrutinize if it really has the staying power and substance to nick through all of the hype and stand-up to the inevitable backlash.

There is an audio commentary by director Jason Reitman and screenwriter Diablo Cody. The first thing that you glance when listening to Cody talking is how well Ellen Page mimicked her plot of speaking. Reitman tends to dominate the track and, not surprisingly, talks about filmmaking aspects like the casting of minor roles, the attention to details for the sets, how he shot distinct scenes, and so on. This is lovely decent track filled with lots of anecdotal stories and production details.

Also included are 11 deleted scenes with optional commentary by Reitman and Cody. We meet Juno’s crazy next-door neighbour. There’s also a different introduction to Juno’s family. We observe Label and Vanessa’s first attempt to adopt. There’s also an laughable bit where Juno has a solo gig and sings a song about getting pregnant. These are all generous scenes and Reitman explains why there were chop.

There is the obligatory “Gag Reel,” a hilarious collection of blown lines and goofs with Bateman making Page smash character time and time again.

The “Gag Bewitch” is an uncommon scene where Rainn Wilson and Reitman salvage into it with a mock heated argument.

“Cast and Crew Plight” features the cast and crew members rockin’ out to a song in this mock music video.

There are “Cover Tests” for Ellen Page and Michael Cera. In the scene they do together you already examine them in character and displaying first-rate chemistry. There is also a test with Page and Olivia Thirlby and one with Page and J.K. Simmons as well.

“Intention Beyond `Our’ Maturity Level” takes a discover at the characters of Bleeker, Juno and her best friend Leah with interviews with the actors that inhabit them. Diablo Cody talks about how they are based on people in her life.

“Diablo Cody is Totally Boss” is a profile of this novice screenwriter who got her initiate writing a blog and got noticed by a film producer. Reitman recalls his initial impressions of the script and the cast gush about its “original yelp.”

Please end whining about this DVD’s aspect ratio. It’s not “full-screen.” It’s widescreen with the new top and bottom sections restored.

According to film historian David P. Hayes, THE STING was filmed in 4:3 (equivalent to “full-screen”) ratio because director George Roy Hill wanted it to scrutinize like an customary movie. The studio (and/or the exhibitors) apparently had second thoughts about it, though, so theatrically-released prints had the top and bottom sections blocked (“matted”) to fit the widescreen format.

What you glimpse on this DVD is not “pan and scan” (with missing left and good articulate), but the unusual format with the top and bottom restored.

I objective bought this DVD for my father because this movie IS a classic, no matter what anyone says. But, when it came in the mail, I was surprised to examine “Plump Veil” on the front of the box. So I did what many of you did NOT do (with the exception of reviewer cammonro dated Sept 2, 2003), I went to the Universal web station and emailed their Home Entertainment division.

‘The Sting’ is only available on DVD in the 1.33:1 aspect ratio, which in this case displays the same report information side-to-side as was seen theatrically. Also, more information is shown top-to-bottom than in the theatrical version because of the draw the film was originally shot.

Cane Toads: An Unnatural History does an noble job of illustrating unprejudiced what can (and often does) happen when humans attempt to alter nature without fully researching the possible outcome. I have been using this video for several years with the middle school life science class that I bellow at an independent school in Topeka, Kansas. The students worship it, and they learn some primary lessons in regard to our natural world and the evolution of life on the planet Earth.

I present this video in my environmental classes and the students Esteem it!!! This is one of the cleverest, funniest natural history videos out there–I only wish there were more videos by the same writer/director. It’s not really impartial for scientists either…there’s something in there for everyone.

I’ve shown this video to lots of people and have yet to meet someone who didn’t worship it. As the DVD conceal says, this is what you’d accept if Monty Python made National Geographic specials. It’s a bit old-fashioned and dated looking, but you’ll hardly behold because you’ll be laughing so hard. I wish it came with subtitles because the Aussie accent is sometimes hard to follow, so you have to listen closely.

I know a few people commented on the raunchy or bizarre aspects of the video but there’s nothing here that’s not PG. In all, I recommend it highly! It’s a delight.

It is the same chronicle, the Griswolds are off to wreak havoc on another city. This time Clark decides to occupy the whole family to Las Vegas so he and Ellen can renew their wedding vows for their anniversary. They manage to leave their novel Griswold touch on most Vegas institutions, like a Seigfried and Roy display, a Wayne Newton demonstrate and the Hoover Dam. Most of the comedic highlights in this movie approach either when the ultimate white-trash, cousin Eddie is onscreen or when Clark is at the blackjack table.

My popular portion of this movie is Ethan Embry as the most dimwitted Russ to date. He buys a fraudulent ID, becomes a high roller and wins 4 cars gambling. I would recommend renting this movie, but not buying it, the ‘bonus’ features are light.

I could peep this 100 times and never gather bored of it. I have never seen any of the other Vacation movies but loved this one. It’s hilarious from beginning to demolish. Anyone who is a fan of Chevy Flow will like this movie. It should have a 5 star rating overall.
